Abstract

Background. Problems of the Russian federalism are versatile and characteristic not only of the stage of its establishment. Russia has experienced and is still going through repeated changesof the content of its federative model. By virtue thereof the Russian federalism appears to be an important and interesting object for a complex comparative-legal analysis. The aim of the work is to analyze possible paths of reforming the Russian federalism model.
Materials and methods. The research tasks were implemented on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of legislative acts appointing the foundations of the Russian federalism model. The methodological potential included methods of comparative-legal and forma-juridical analysis.
Results. The authors researched the stages of establishment of the Russian federalism model along with determination of its formation problems at each of those stages. The authors believe that the process of further federalization of the country correlates and interdepends on the regional policy and territorial structure of the Russian Federation.
Conclusions. Actual functioning of the Russian federalism is impossible without establishing an efficienc interaction between the center and regions, providing mana¬gement methods reasonable in the given conditions. Formation of a model of Russian federalism that meets historical traditions and the contemporary condition of the country is a promising path of reformation of the Russian statehood at the modern stage. It is impossible to realize the ideas of a democratic and lawful state without implementing the above-mentioned measures.
